Chess as Curriculum

Chess is a powerful educational tool that develops critical thinking, problem-solving, concentration, logical reasoning, strategic planning, creativity and patience.

At Joy School, we use chess to help students think analytically, approach complex problems, and strengthen mental abilities that extend beyond the game. Our focus is not simply on creating great chess players, but on developing great thinkers.

Theater

Theater influences all aspects of life. At JIS, we have participatory plays carefully designed for children of different age groups. The main thrust of the plays is to create an atmosphere where children are encouraged to make choices, decisions, and ask questions as they gear themselves up to be part of a larger society.

Through theatre, we unlock the child’s imagination and engage their creative minds in a realistic environment. Our theater curriculum focuses on improving the expressive ability and emotional strength while building confidence among children across classes.

Back-to-childhood

At Joy School, we integrate traditional children’s games into our elementary school program to make learning engaging and meaningful. These familiar games connect learning with local culture and give students opportunities to play and learn with parents, grandparents, and classmates.

We combine traditional games with simple technology and thoughtfully designed activities to develop cognitive and problem-solving skills. This approach helps students apply what they learn through play to their classroom learning.
